FDA 483 - Texas Tripe - August 26, 2019

Texas Tripe, a pet food manufacturer in Detroit, TX, was inspected by the FDA and cited for significant deficiencies. The inspection revealed inadequate sanitation practices leading to potential contamination of raw pet food, including the use of rusty equipment and poor handling procedures. Furthermore, finished raw pet food products were found to be adulterated with pathogenic bacteria such as Shiga toxin-producing E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria monocytogenes.
