- Summary: On January 14, 15, and 18, 2013, the FDA inspected a dairy operation at 3895 Star Road, Meridian, Idaho, identifying violations of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act).

A dairy cow sold for slaughter on September 18, 2012, was found to be adulterated under sections 402(a)(2)(C)(ii) and 402(a)(4) of the FD&C Act. USDA/FSIS analysis detected tilmicosin, florfenicol, and enrofloxacin in the cow's tissues, which was over 30 months old. There is no tolerance for these residues in female dairy cattle over 20 months of age.

The operation also failed to maintain treatment records, leading to insanitary conditions where medicated animals with harmful drug residues could enter the food supply, further adulterating food under section 402(a)(4).

Additionally, new animal drugs Micotil 300 (tilmicosin), Nuflor (florfenicol), and Baytril 100 (enrofloxacin) were adulterated under section 501(a)(5) of the FD&C Act. These drugs were used extralabelly on female dairy cattle over 20 months of age without following approved labeling or a veterinarian's
