FDA WARNING_LETTER - www.cigarettes-for-less.com

The FDA issued a Warning Letter to the operator of six affiliated websites (cigarettes-for-less.com, savebigoncigs.com, cheap-cigarette-city.com, save-on-cigarettes.com, cheap-cigarette-site.com, and cheap-cigarettes-site.com) for violations related to the sale of tobacco products to U.S. customers.

The FDA determined that several products listed on http://www.cheap-cigarette-site.com are adulterated under section 902(8) of the FD&C Act because they are promoted as "modified risk tobacco products" (e.g., "light" or "ultra light" cigarettes like "Marlboro Gold," "Winston Blue," "Camel Silver") without an FDA order. This violates section 911(a) of the FD&C Act.

Additionally, the websites offer flavored cigarettes (e.g., "Kiss Super Slims Fresh Apple 100s," "Richmond Cherry") which are adulterated under section 902(5) of the FD&C Act, as section 907(a)(1)(A) prohibits characterizing flavors (other than tobacco or menthol) in cigarettes. If these products do not contain characterizing flavors, they are misbranded under section 903(a)(1) for false and misleading labeling.
